Well daid..its finally over..,
your home now you can rest
I know there's always better..,
but I think I did my best
We started out in Galway..,
   that city by the bay
More than once you spoke of it..,
you'd live there.. you would say
And when those medals took a swim..,
   then disappeared from view
'Twas a real good feeling..,
   as I saluted you
Standing on the Cliffs of Moher..,
   seemed right.. another soared
Those rocky cliffs now hold you..,
   there.. you'll not be boared
Then there came Croagh Patrick..,
   that mountain by the sea
Many times you'd tell his story..,
   bout the holy trinity
So by St. Patrick's statue..,
   and a wondrous brook
Came to rest another..,
   on him you'll always look
Just one left.. oh were.. oh were..,
   should that last one be
Then on a lovely day trip..,
   the answer came to me
In Clonmacnoise I wondered..,
then one gravestone seemed to speak..,
Search no more.. this is it..,
   my legs grew mighty weak
There was John.. and Mary Higgins..,
they were laying at my feet
"Twas GOD'S hand.. I knew it..,
   my journey now complete
Down to the river Shannon with Clonmacnoise in sight..,
dropped it in.. and walked away
'Tis here you'd want to..,
   stay
Well daid.. its finally over..,
your home now you can rest
I know there's always better..,
but I think I did my best
