Special One

Speical One

Once more to the starting gate..,
for what would be his last
And as the loading had begun..,
came memories of the past
Mort time's he'd run the good race..,
at time's he even won
But long ago.. it haunted him..,
there was this special one
Maybe he just backed off
or maybe it was fate
This time he couldn't back off..,
for now.. he couldn't wait
Planned to go out.. take the lead..,
and back off.. he'd no more
Breaking first he took the lead..,
and that they say.. is that
Out there in the pasture..,
he seems old.. and kind of fat
And if the wind.. it blow's just right..,
he hold's his head up high
That special one.. he'd done it..,
with his final try
