St. Patrick

Just A Glimpse

     JUST A GLIMPSE

Just a taste.. a fleeing glimpse..,
of Patrick.. and his way
'Tis food for thought.. as you toast..,
to celebrate this day
Life started as a Welshmen..,
this story.. it turns sad
See.. Patrick he was kidnapped..,
taken as a lad
Brought to the Emerald Isle..,
for there he'd be a slave
But Patrick heard.. the FATHER'S voice..,
and ay.. his soul was saved
Stold away.. he did escape..,
to find France's friendly shores
'Tis there he'd seek the priesthood..,
to do the MASTER'S chores
Studied hard.. he learned the word..,
and ay.. he was ordained
Set course.. sailed back to Ireland..,
much work there still remained
Once there he'd use the shamrock..,
the trinity he'd teach
Spoke to all.. some listened..,
so many souls he'd reach
'Tis just a taste.. a fleeing glimpse..,
of Patrick.. ay his way
Food for thought.. a mighty toast..,
this St. Patrick's Day
